Is your rate below the range?

How the calculation works

Three simple steps. We'd rather show a real, partial number than invent a “complete” rate that public data doesn't allow.

1 We read the public profile

Followers and latest posts — the same kind of data any visitor can see.

2 Average likes

We add up the likes on recent posts and divide by the number of posts analyzed.

3 Likes-based rate

average ÷ followers × 100. Comments aren't included: the public API doesn't expose them.

Benchmark ranges

General market benchmark — niche, format and posting time also matter.

Up to 10K followers 3% – 6%
10K to 100K 1.5% – 3%
100K to 1M 1% – 2%
Over 1M 0.5% – 1.5%

It's not an exact threshold — use it as a compass, not a verdict.

Frequently asked questions

Does the calculator read my Instagram password?

No. We only look up what's already public on your profile (@username, followers and latest posts) — the same process we use to deliver followers to your profile. We never ask for a login or password.

Why doesn't the rate include comments?

Instagram's public data doesn't expose the number of comments from other users. The result shown is the likes-based engagement rate — a real slice, not the full rate.

Does it work with a private profile?

No. We can only calculate public profiles, because the lookup doesn't use a login.

Does a low rate mean my followers are fake?

Not necessarily. It could be content posted at the wrong time, captions without a call to interact, or a niche with naturally lower engagement. The rate is a signal, not a final diagnosis.

Before buying anything, it's worth reading what an engaged follower really means.
